What is Living Water?
Great Question!
Revelation 22:18b Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. (NIV)
Everyone knows how important clean drinking water is for mankind! Clean water is healthy; good for the body.
Just like dirty water, we are each unclean (we have sin in our lives). Romans 3:23 says "For ALL have sinned and fall short of God's glory."
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ came to Earth as a baby. He lived a sinless life to then die on a cross as the ultimate "pure" sacrifice. Three days after he was buried, He was raised to life.
He made the way for us to become "clean", and the Bible also tells us that the ONLY way to become clean is through Jesus.
How can I become clean like that?
If you declare with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the risen Savior, you will be saved. (see Romans 10:9-10) In "English" terms, that means that if you admit your sinful life to Jesus, asking Him for forgiveness, and believe that He will do that for you, you will be saved.
That is the first step; a life-transforming step. You've maybe heard of the phrase "born again"? Well that is the term used when your life becomes transformed because you have given your life to Jesus, and He changes you...makes your heart "white as snow". You are forgiven. Your spiritual debt is paid--IN FULL!
Once you are a believer in Jesus, there is more to learn and understand, from His Holy word (the Bible) that will help you live a life that is pleasing to Him.
